At Officer Paw Pet Care™, we understand that plans sometimes change. At the same time, every confirmed reservation sets aside time specifically for you and your pet and may prevent us from accepting another client during that time.
This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains the cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and service-credit rules that apply to Officer Paw Pet Care services.
By booking a service, you acknowledge and agree to the cancellation terms applicable to that service.
Regular dog walks and drop-in visits may be canceled or rescheduled without a cancellation charge when at least 24 hours' notice is provided before the scheduled service.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged the full scheduled service price.
This policy applies because a pet care professional's time has already been reserved for the appointment.
Pet sitting, vacation pet sitting, and house sitting reservations may be canceled without a cancellation charge when at least 72 hours' notice is provided before the first scheduled service.
If cancellation occurs less than 72 hours before the first scheduled service but before services begin, the client may be charged 50% of the reserved service total.
Once the reserved service period has begun, amounts paid for the scheduled services are generally nonrefundable.
Because overnight reservations require Officer Paw Pet Care to reserve extended periods specifically for a client, the following cancellation terms apply:
7 or more days before the first overnight: Full refund of eligible amounts paid.
3 to 6 days before the first overnight: 50% of the reserved service total may be charged.
Less than 72 hours before the first overnight: The full reserved service amount may be charged.
Any refund otherwise required by applicable law will be honored.
Holiday and designated high-demand reservations require additional advance scheduling and may prevent Officer Paw Pet Care from accepting other clients.
Unless different terms are disclosed at booking:
Cancellation at least 14 days before the first scheduled holiday service is eligible for a full refund of eligible amounts paid.
Cancellation less than 14 days before the first scheduled holiday service is generally nonrefundable.
Officer Paw Pet Care will identify applicable holiday or high-demand pricing and special booking conditions when reasonably practicable during the booking process.
Wedding Pet Attendant services reserve a substantial block of time and may require advance scheduling, planning, transportation coordination, and preparation.
Cancellation and deposit requirements may therefore differ from ordinary pet care appointments.
Any special cancellation, deposit, or payment terms provided in the client's Wedding Pet Attendant proposal, booking confirmation, or service agreement will control that reservation.
If no separate cancellation terms are provided, the following will apply:
14 or more days' notice: Full refund of eligible amounts paid.
7 to 13 days' notice: 50% of the reserved service total may be charged.
Less than 7 days' notice: The full reserved service amount may be charged.
Individual puppy training or other training appointments may be canceled or rescheduled without charge when at least 24 hours' notice is provided.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice may result in the session being charged in full or counted as a used session within a prepaid package.
Training packages may also be subject to expiration dates or additional package terms disclosed when purchased.
Emergency, same-day, after-hours, and other last-minute pet care requests are subject to availability.
Because personnel may be specifically assigned or schedules rearranged to accommodate these requests, emergency or last-minute services are generally nonrefundable once accepted and confirmed.
This section refers to urgent pet care scheduling and does not mean veterinary emergency treatment.
Clients with memberships, packages, or recurring appointments remain subject to the cancellation requirements applicable to the individual service unless separate membership or package terms state otherwise.
Canceling an individual appointment does not automatically cancel a membership, package, or recurring billing arrangement.
Any membership cancellation request must be made according to the applicable membership terms.
Add-on services canceled together with an underlying appointment will generally follow the cancellation terms applicable to the primary service.
If Officer Paw Pet Care has already purchased supplies, incurred third-party costs, or performed work specifically requested by the client, those amounts may be nonrefundable to the extent permitted by law.
If a client returns home earlier than expected during a pet sitting, vacation, overnight, or house sitting reservation, the client should notify Officer Paw Pet Care as soon as possible.
Unused services resulting from an early return are generally treated as a client cancellation and may not be refundable.
This policy exists because the reserved time was held specifically for the client and may no longer be available to another customer.
Clients should contact Officer Paw Pet Care as soon as possible if their return is delayed and additional pet care will be necessary.
Additional visits or overnight services are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Additional services provided because of a delayed return will be charged at the applicable service rate, including any applicable holiday, emergency, after-hours, or last-minute charges.
Clients are responsible for providing working and accurate access instructions, keys, gate codes, lockbox information, smart-lock access, and other information necessary to perform the scheduled service.
If an Officer Paw Pet Care professional arrives for a confirmed appointment but cannot access the property because of circumstances within the client's control, the appointment may be considered completed for cancellation and payment purposes and may be charged in full.
Officer Paw Pet Care will make reasonable efforts to contact the client when an access problem occurs.
Officer Paw Pet Care may modify, shorten, suspend, or cancel a service when a pet, person, property condition, weather condition, or other circumstance creates an unreasonable safety risk.
Refund or credit eligibility will depend upon the circumstances and whether the condition was reasonably within the client's control.
Undisclosed aggression, dangerous conditions, or materially inaccurate client information may result in the service being nonrefundable to the extent permitted by law.
The safety of pets and people comes first.
Hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, lightning, evacuation orders, unsafe heat, road closures, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other emergencies may make normal service unsafe or impossible.
When Officer Paw Pet Care determines that a service cannot safely be performed because of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the client and Officer Paw Pet Care, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an appropriate reschedule, service credit, modification, or refund, depending upon the circumstances.
Clients will not automatically be treated as ordinary late cancellations when an official emergency or genuinely unsafe condition prevents the scheduled service.
If Officer Paw Pet Care must cancel a confirmed service and cannot provide a suitable replacement or reasonable alternative, the client will not be charged for the unperformed service.
If the service was prepaid, the client will be offered an appropriate refund or service credit for the unperformed service.
This provision does not require Officer Paw Pet Care to provide services when doing so would be unsafe, unlawful, or reasonably impracticable.
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method when reasonably possible.
Banks, credit card companies, and payment processors control how quickly a refund appears after Officer Paw Pet Care submits it.
Any processing timeframe provided by Officer Paw Pet Care is an estimate and does not guarantee the date on which a financial institution will post the refund.
When appropriate, Officer Paw Pet Care may offer a service credit instead of or in addition to a refund.
Any expiration date, service limitation, or other condition applicable to a credit will be disclosed when the credit is issued.
A client will not be required to accept a service credit instead of a refund when applicable law requires a monetary refund.
If a scheduled service requires the client or another authorized person to be present and no authorized person is available at the scheduled time, the service may be considered a late cancellation or no-show.
The full service charge may apply.
This provision does not generally apply to services for which Officer Paw Pet Care has previously been authorized to enter the property without the client being present.
Clients should cancel or reschedule through an Officer Paw Pet Care-approved method, such as the applicable booking system, client portal, or customer-service contact method.
A cancellation is not considered successfully submitted merely because a message was sent to an unattended or unapproved communication channel.
Clients should retain any cancellation or rescheduling confirmation they receive.
Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy limits any refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Officer Paw Pet Care will comply with applicable federal, state, and local law.
Officer Paw Pet Care may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time.
Changes will be posted with an updated Last Updated date and will apply prospectively as required by applicable law.
The cancellation terms applicable to an existing confirmed reservation will not be retroactively made more restrictive after booking unless the client agrees or applicable law permits otherwise.
Questions about cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, or service credits may be submitted through the contact information or contact form provided on the Officer Paw Pet Care website.
For an upcoming appointment, clients should contact Officer Paw Pet Care as soon as possible when their plans change.
